The Delicious Tuning RED OEM+ Coil Packs are a great replacement to the OEM coil packs if you are looking for improvement in response, smoother drivability or just need a solid replacement coil due to age. We have tested the coil packs over a period of a year on a various development cars around the world, logging track miles, dyno pulls, drag strip passes, and daily driving miles in hot/cold conditions. Our in shop BRZ which runs an Edelbrock Supercharger and Flex Fuel Kit has been running them during same time period and we have been extremely happy with the results. The coil packs offer different benefits to your specific application, as described below.
- Forced Induction Engines
The increased discharge current and voltage of spark energy to the plugs offers a cleaner, crisper and smoother running engine. The higher voltage allows spark plug gaps to be more easily maintained on forced inductions applications in all conditions, from daily driving, drag strip passes and extended track sessions. The combination of durability and stronger discharge current provides a more consistent combustion of the fuel mixture even under extreme conditions.
- Naturally Aspirated Engines
The increased voltage and discharge current of spark energy to the plugs offers a more responsive, smoother and cleaner running engine. The higher voltage allows spark plug gaps to be more easily maintained or opened up slightly. The combination of a larger gap and stronger discharge current provides a more responsive combustion of the fuel mixture for increased torque while maintaining power at high RPM.
- Low Speed Pre-Ignition
While low speed pre-ignition is an issue on direct injected, high compression and forced induction applications (such as the FA20 86 platforms) there are items that can be addressed to mitigate this known issue. One such aspect is by improving the combustion for the fuel mixture. This will help maintain a cleaner cylinder during each cycle, which leads to less build up in the cylinder and less likely chance of low speed pre-ignition.
